SIMPLE & MODERN DESIGN
Bobbles are on trend and are still as popular as ever!
This doesn’t surprise me as they’re so cute and are perfect for all sorts of projects, not least for baby items.
The pattern repeat involved in this blanket consists of 4 rows. Once you’ve worked the repeat a few times, you’ll soon be in the swing of things and find that your blanket works up in no time.
ADJUST THE SIZE
This particular pattern gives you the instructions to make a baby blanket however you can make it in any size that you wish. Just make sure that your multiple is 3 plus 2 (then add 1 extra for the foundation chain).
For more information about how to adjust the size of a blanket, please read this helpful article that I wrote here
YARN USED
For this crochet bobble stitch blanket I used James C.Brett Flutterby Chunky.
It’s 100% super soft polyester and I can attest that it’s one of the softest yarns that I’ve ever worked with!
Although it’s a weight 5 / chunky / 12 ply yarn, your finished blanket will still feel nice and lightweight.
And the yarn becomes even more airy when used with a 7mm hook – slightly larger than the recommended J (6mm) crochet hook.
You’ll also love how easy it is to work with!
ULTRA CUTE BABY SET
This crochet bobble stitch blanket is part of a set consisting of a matching baby cardigan, beanie, booties and baby mittens.
With the exception of the mittens, everything is sized from preemie to 2 years of age (mittens up to 6 months old).
I actually started off with the design of the blanket first and loved the stitch pattern so much that I decided to design an entire baby set around it!
I hope that you love this little set as much as I do 🥰

PATTERN NOTES
- US crochet terminology used throughout.
- You may substitute the recommended yarn with any #5 / bulky / chunky / 12 ply yarn. If you would like a blanket of the same size, please test your gauge / tension beforehand .
- This blanket can be made in any size. To adjust the size of your blanket, begin with a foundation chain that is a multiple of 3 + 2 (then add 1 extra for the foundation chain). (I chained 63, which is divisible by 3, then added 2 extra chains. A further 1 chain was added for the foundation chain, giving 66 chains in total).
- 4-row pattern repeat (repeat rows 2 – 5).
- When working row 1 with the recommended yarn, I like to crochet under both loops for a neater edge.
- When working this pattern, it is advised to place a stitch marker in to the first stitch of each row.
